Heart Shaped Crayons

This is a fun little gift to make your pre-schooler or kindergardener for Valentines Day (& It Only takes about 30 minutes!!) You need broken (I didn't have any broken ones so I just used some new crayons) A latex heart shaped mold or baking pan. If you use a metal pan, make sure you spray some PAM in it to keep your crayons from sticking. We peeled the paper off about 30 crayons (4-5 per heart), broke them into small pieces, and preheated the oven to 250 degrees.

This is what the crayons should look like before you place them in the oven. Then we placed them in the oven on a cookies sheet for support. Let them ""cook" until all the crayons are melted.

Remove them from the oven and use a skewer or plastic knife to stir them. (if you don't stir them the colors will separate). Let them cool, as they cool they will harden and become crayons again.

Be careful when removing them from the mold. Loosen all of the edges first & lift the heart out by the pointy end. (I broke a few heart tips removing them by the rounded edges first)

I made some Blue and Green for my Nephews and some...

Pink and Purple for my nieces... They loved them!!

Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did :)
